The NMSU Police Department provides educational programs that let all members of the University community—students, faculty, staff, and visitors—know what they can and should do to prevent themselves from becoming victims. It is better for an individual to take certain common-sense precautions than to suffer the physical, emotional, and financial trauma that occurs when people are victimized by criminals.
The overall focus of the Crime Prevention Section is to educate the members of the University community in the areas of prevention, reduction, and awareness of criminal activity. We believe that a well-informed community will be a safe community! We also believe that the information you learn may not be needed at NMSU, but safety is a life skill that might help you years later.
Crime prevention presentations are routinely scheduled for campus residents, as well as, faculty and staff groups. Click below to get more information about each of the programs we offer, get crime prevention tips, or read The Aggie Dispatch our crime prevention publication.
